    Censorship

That only bothers a certain type of person. Some folks feel that they must inject their politics into everything. Everyone is better off without them.

Anyone else admit to an OOPSIE!

Had a fellow ask me today where I learned so much about boats and boating. Told him I came by it the hard way, that my family started boating about the time I was born, 14ft wooden runabout, and over the many decades we have made just about every mistake you can make short of completely sinking...

Tornado this spring got my10ft baby, any helpful hints for straightening this mess out?

Thanks! She will float again! No, I think everyone in the neighborhood took some damage to one degree or the other but no one was injured. Scared the dickens out of us all and there was about 2 mins there when I thought I was a had lad. Lost a sizable chunk of the house, like just gone, and...

Yes, I know it makes no sense but I am going to try anyway.

Security and light wind chain. 20 and 30 mph winds are common at the house.

So far as I can tell right now, on brace is torn and a couple of the seat brackets. That might grow as a beat her back into shape.

Tornado this spring got my10ft baby, any helpful hints for straightening this mess out?

I will not give up on her yet, 30 years of good memories, many of them with friends who are no longer living. She wasn't a beauty queen when I got her, patches and dents so a few more will not hurt anything. But after all the years of work on her and several paint jobs, that $25 boat is getting...

Tornado this spring got my10ft baby, any helpful hints for straightening this mess out?

She is not really pooched out much but is crushed more than the pics show. If I had a way to press down on the inside bottom that might get 50% of it. But as of now it looks like heating and beating, then cleaning up whatever damage that causes. I and not sure what to do with the ribs, the bends...

Tornado this spring got my10ft baby, any helpful hints for straightening this mess out?

I am thinking the seats and braces will have to come out even to start with the beating. I am not going to give up on her, the Dangerous Child will float again!

    Flood light on a pole?

Yes, and small glow sticks as well but I really don't care much for either. We do wrap the rod tips and down a few inches with white pipe thread tape, that works well for a Coleman lantern on the bank but wasn't doing the job on the boat. I found a couple of videos of pole lights on larger...

    Flood light on a pole?

We were night fishing out of my buddy's 14ft Mirrocraft last year and had trouble keeping track of our rod tips resulting in missing several bites. Neither the stern light nor the little LED lantern were throwing out enough light and both were a bit blinding when casting behind the boat. Got...

    Fixing screw holes above waterline

I am with Dale, Simple and quick, easy to do and inexpensive. If you can't find them local there are plenty to be found on the internet. Just make sure they are all aluminum-- no steel mandrels. You could also go with solid rivets,, not too much more trouble if you have an air hammer.

    Jon boat set

I have my 10 ft-er set up for car-topping if needed. Before the accident I used lawn chairs, Nice and comfy but one day while drift fishing a small river my boat mate got snagged and I foolishly attempted to swing her back upstream to save the rig. Boat mate was not ready for that, his lawn...

    Night fishing lights?

Was out a couple times in the 14 ft-er last season still fishing the bottom and had trouble seeing the rod ends. Missed several bites on account of it, the small LED lantern in the boat was just not getting out and up to the rod ends while the rods were in the holders. Could burn the Coleman...

    bedliner material?

That is where I am right now. I am leaning against carpet and toward a "coating" for my plywood deck. A big fan of barefoot in the boat, I am looking for something comfy and easy to clean that will not hold water so a rubberized coating seems to be the cost effective way to go. But, which...

how to strip paint off a jon boat??

Aluminum will oxidize a bit after a while, but not really rust like you are thinking, more like dull a bit. A very mild acid wash(wheel cleaner, vinegar) will straighten it right up.
