    Chris' 12' Valco

Love them Valcos. I have had three of them. My last new one was a 13ft that I ordered custom from the factory in 1996 with a walk through center seat. Yes they were bought out by Klamath boats.

    89 25hp Yamaha fuel hose ?

Does anyone know what size the factory recommended fuel hose for a 89 Yamaha 25hp 2 stroke is? My primer bulb went TU and when looking at replacing it I discovered the one on it is only 1/4 inch. I can order a replacement but was wondering if I might be better off buying a whole new 3/8 inch...

That pistol grip ball head is a great idea!

    1974 14ft Meyers boat project

Two words come to mind, (functional simplicity). This should be a "poster child" for what to do with this type of boat.

    1985 Mariner 50ML 50hp

It still could be made by Yamaha even if it was sold as a Merc/Mariner. Try looking at Yamaha parts of the same year.

Need some advise on my 6hp johnson

Did you test the compression yourself? I would check again in both cylinders. Back to your original question. If you got the motor for free I would consider spending the money to get it checked out. Ask them to check the compression before doing anything. Even if it costs 200.00 to fix it you...

Need some advise on my 6hp johnson

Number 3 a possibility. In his video it didn't sound like his rpm's were as high as they should be. But that could also be due to low compression.

Need some advise on my 6hp johnson

I think you may be slightly underpowered at less than half the rated hp even though that's a fairly light hull. A 9.9 would make a lot of difference.

Need some advise on my 6hp johnson

What is the hull weight of your boat and what is max hp rating? 6hp seems a little small to me for a 14ft boat. Also 70lbs compression sounds low.

    reasonable time in a shop

I agree with huntinfool. I had a gunsmith shop for 20 years. It happened every year. J. Doe comes in 2 weeks before deer season starts and wants his rifle cleaned and a scope mounted. I have 40 guns in the rack waiting to be worked on. Every minute I spend on the phone or talking to customers...

    Lund Front Deck Support Help

Here is a pic of our Lund Rebel SS. My disability keeps me from being able to get up under it and see how it's braced. But it might give you an idea how one looks with a flat deck. It is carpeted plywood. In the one pic you can see it is enclosed for storage.

Trailer too short? Lowe 1448T with Tilller

That was my thought. It looks like a lot of the weight behind the axle. If we could see the tongue we could tell if the entire boat could be moved forward.

    Prop sharpening?

Just went and did a search and it seems they do sharpen the props on RC racing boats.

    Prop sharpening?

I have never heard of "prop sharpening" and don't know as I can see any advantage to it. Unless you want to maim and murder swimmers and marine animals. In fact it seems like thinning the edges in any way would make it more vulnerable to nicks and bending. Perhaps for high performance racing?

Trailer too short? Lowe 1448T with Tilller

That trailer does look a bit small for that boat. It looks like it was made for a 12 ft. It may help to see a photo from the side showing the full length including the tongue, and also one showing how your bunks are set up.
