    Rock Ejector

How easy does the lever move each way? Hiw much force would you say ot takes to actuate it? That's something I've always wondered about it.

    Rock Ejector

I'll be keeping an eye on this one. Have been considering getting this for my jet for the exact same reason. Leaves are a killer here in East TN as well.

Boat For Sale 1448 Lowe with Steering Console

I want to start off saying this isn't my boat and I have no idea who the person is selling it. I also do not live near this Craigslist listing. The reason I'm posting is that I know I have seen a couple of guys over the years on here looking for a 14' boat with a steering console and I figured...

Can the trolling motor MOTOR be removed to shorten the shaft?

The lower motor housing is threaded to the shaft with red loctite, that's what creates the waterproof seal. Removing the shaft always damages the threads and needs a fair bit of heat to remove. This usually requires either a new shaft or you could cut it and tap it with new threads if you had...

    14' V length reduction

I'm not a welder, but I do know that riveted v-hull boats are made of pretty thin aluminum (usually between .05 and .063 i believe), so they can be difficult to weld from what I've heard. Just a heads up.

What kind of lower unit oil?

Here's a jug of the 2-stroke Bass Pro oil and a quart of Fram Small Engine Oil I just used in my mower. The AOC or the bottom stands for Amalie Oil Company. Also, not to get political or anything, but using AOC as the initialism for your company is really unfortunate nowadays, especially for an...

What kind of lower unit oil?

The Bass Pro stuff is made by Amalie Oil. I've used a bunch of the Bass Pro 2-stroke oil (bought a few cases of it on either Black Friday or the Fishing Classic years ago when it was first released). All that original stuff is gone, but the Bass Pro stuff is still what I have on my shelf for...

I know that feeling! You got this man! It's coming along beautifully and I can't wait to see the results of your labor soon.

What kind of lower unit oil?

The Quicksilver Premium 80W-90 is for outboards below 75 hp. The Quicksilver High Performance SAE 90 works in all sizes. I only know that specifically because I just walked by them in Bass Pro. I attached a picture of the two types side by side.

What kind of lower unit oil?

Honestly, any 10w-30 made for outboards today would be good. Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki and other outboard manufacturers all have their own branded oils, but Valvoline, Pennzoil, Lucas, and other oil manufacturers also make 4-stroke outboard oils as well. Just make sure you get actual marine...

    Kayaks

I said it before and I'll say it again, you are the man, Sonny! Tough as nails and good as gold! And modest to boot!

    Transom Tie Downs

Well, I guess I stand corrected. As an East TN Appalachian man, I must say that foothills of the Rockies count as mountains in my opinion. My main problem isn't so much washboard gravel roads (although I deal with them at certain ramps), but instead narrow roads with twists and turns and no...

    Transom Tie Downs

You must not live in the mountains. On some the roads I trailer on, you'd bounce a boat right off a trailer if it wasn't tied down, or at least make it jump off the bunks and cause damage to the hull or transom. And for the OP, why not use retractable boatbuckles? They are one of the best...

    71 Crestliner Muskie 15 Project

Since you asked why trailer lights never seem to work... "Shortly after man invented the wheel, he invented the trailer. Ever since then, he has been trying to figure out how to hook up the lights." “I know a man who claims the lights on his boat trailer once worked twice consecutively. Anyone...

    Kayaks

Being a moderator, is there any way to check if someone is real or not on your end? Or does everyone look the same in their details and whatnot?

    Kayaks

Well that's good. It's always best when you have family that can be there to help when needed. We have a similar situation with my grandparents this last year or so, but unfortunately, no one is retired that lives here near them. We all do our best to be there when possible though. My dad runs...

    Kayaks

Well, I appreciated your story about your sister moving there soon. I'd say a cottonmouth in the kayak would be a rude awakening for anyone! Is she moving there to be closer to y'all?

    Kayaks

OK, I got to know. Who else thinks this is an AI account? This account comes out of nowhere, replies to post from February, this is the only post they made, and their reply is literally a definition on what kayaks are, not at all pertaining to the conversation that was at hand months ago. Maybe...

    New guy

Well I'd say you'll get there in no time with your work ethic. And I know you are being humble, but I can tell you are tough and full of heart. Toughness isn't a lack of pain, but rather the ability to never let it stop you or beat you. Also, have you had any time to try pulling dents out of the...

    New guy

Sonny, you are as tough as they come. Just got done fixing your roof and helping your neighbors and then right back to working on the boat!
