I do. I keep a logbook of every boat, vehicle, and trailer i own full of receipts and maintenance records. My electronics on the boat keep all my hotspots. My mind keeps very good track of equipment used lol

I would definitely weld it on then id look into mounting the TM using the Motorguide isolator bolt kit. Itll set it up off the deck and absorb any vibrations.

I use all Pflueger Presidents on all my spinning tackle from UL to H. Their rods that come with the combos are junk in my opinion. I love my Berkeley Lightning Shock in 7ft H and MH. I use TeamDiawa V rods in 6'6" M and MH. I also have one paired up on my BP micro lite in 6'.

After looking at your picture again closely, it looks like your curve runs side to side. The Isolator bolts helped mine but my curve was running back to front so therefore my TM already sat even. Not too sure how much that actually help you. I would try shimming that outside edge before hacking...

I would personally go with Motorguide Isolator bolts. Im currently using them on my glass boat because the bow is curved.
