I never really considered them to be add ons until you mentioned it…….that is an excellent thought. There have been areas where the rivet was lost and they were replaced with a small nut and bolt with a rubber grommet to seal and protect. I have replaced those bolts with new aluminum rivets.

Here are the knee braces on a 1971 Appleby Jon boat. I’m getting extremely confident that mine is indeed an Appleby unless there is something else I can look for that will identify it better..???

Found what appears to be the same style knee brace on the Appleby boats, plus that same upward angle on both sides of the transom

Still need to clean it up, but I have salvaged my dads old 1959 Evinrude Fisherman and got it running. From time to time I want to run it on this 1966 Jon boat...Should make a classic set up

Does anyone have an idea what boat manufacturer made knee braces like the ones pictured above..??

Then could this boat be an older model Monark..?? However, when looking at the Lowe boats, it appears to have that same upward pattern on the Transom that mine has It is of coursed a Rivited boat and the only leak in the thing is the plug doesn’t fit well and needs replaced.
