    Insulating an existing livewell

Hello folks, long time no see. I have drug my feet for over 5 years now over doing something about my factory livewell. It's all aluminum construction, built onto the front of the console and is completely exposed. Saying that the water heats up in a hurry given the color of the boat...

    Somebody left the door unlocked

Howdy, boys (and gals)! Long time, no talk to. I see that the site is moving right along, Jim! Lots of new names here along with lots of the old timers, too. I figured that I would drop in and poke around a bit to see how you guys were getting along. Our spring seems to be running at least...

    What a shame

Couldn't they have picked up a couple of junkers instead of sacrificing a couple of pristine Optimaxes? https://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42538948/ns/technology_and_science-innovation/?GT1=43001

What do you do when it is 39* outside with 20mph winds?

You go crappie fishing! We caught over 20 fish and kepth the 10 largest. 6 of those were over 14" long. Gotta represent the website. A photo similar to this one might make it on to W2F, if we are lucky. (and he had better not crop out TinBoats)

Nice resto/mod job with a twist....

This is the tale of a restoration / mod project by a member on a forum that I moderate. Read through the thread to see his results. Make sure that you go through to the end. https://www.kentuckyhunting.net/forums/showthread.php?102573-Glutton-for-punishment-Back-into-boat-ownership.

    Grizzly double seat mount

I do a lot of spider rigging for crappie starting this time of the year and usually have someone that wants to go along. My boat came with a single pedestal mount in the front deck so I have just been using a couple of bag chairs on the deck for the last two years. :LOL2: I decided this year...

You guys might get a kick out of this

Pay no attention to the character known as "Tim". I would have killed those ducks. (if I had owned a rocket pack to make it another 100 yards  ) https://www.realtree.com/hunting/articles-and-how-to/hell-ducks I honestly thought that I was going to drown in 12" of water that morning.

    Cheapest place for pedestal bases?

I'm still debating on whether I want to sink 2 more bases in my front deck or get some type of add-a-seat deal. Who's got a line on cheap bases? Preferably ones with a bronze bushing and threaded. I'm cheap and trying to do a cost comparison between the two options. :LOL2: Everybody wants...

    Leveling kit on your pickup?

Anybody here done it? Just wondering how many miles you get before you begin to have ball joint issues, if you get any. Thinking about putting a 2 1/2" on my truck. I hate the factory rake that Ford put on them from 2004 to 2007.

Waterfowl pics from this season (now with actual pictures!)

I have gotten horrible about remembering to take my camera along on hunts or even to snap pics with my cell phone. I guess my brain doesn't work at 4 am like it used to. :LOL2: Here are a few random pics from hunts this season where I actually did remember to snap a photo. Gadwall and a...

    Destin, FL 10-13

I wasn't sure that I would go out this year since we flew down and I didn't want to ship fish back home, but my wife talked me into it (it was a hard job, I tell ya  ) The tourist industry is still way down, so hardly any of the charters are going out. I made reservations on Sunday to go...

Great end to a beach vacation

I was wiggling my toes in the Gulf of Mexico sand at 7:30 this morning and had this 2 y/o doe on the ground in Kentucky at 5:00 this afternoon. We got home from our vacation at 2:45 and 30 minutes later, I had thrown my hunting gear into my econo driver and took off for LBL. I called a buddy...

    Triton boats sold

I hope for all involved that this doesn't throw a wrench into my lifetime hull warranty. https://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/news/article.aspx?Feed=PR&Date=20100729&ID=11757506&Symbol=BC

Anybody have a line on outboard decals?

The embossed decal on the front of my Merc peeled off last week because of the 100* temps and being under the boat cover. I can't seem to find anything like it online and the local vinyl place acts like they don't want to mess with it since it's not a $100 sign. I would try some spray...

Not real happy with Motor Guide right now

I had a couple of buddies in this weekend to fish and we decided to go out on a night trip last night. We ran probably 15 minutes in the dark to where I wanted to fish and I kicked the trolling motor down. I was too far over on the flat (couldn't tell where I was in the pitch black  )...

Ran into the tinboats AOY on the water yesterday.

It is a small world and the internet makes it a whole lot smaller. I ran into the tinboats 2009 angler of the year, JIGGY (jigster60) below Barkley dam yesterday. I don't know if it was my boat or my ugly mug that gave me away but from about 60 yards away he yelled "hey.. aren't you on...

    Shooting bigheads

We just got in from the tailwaters of Barkley dam and our first trip out for bighead carp... it most definitely will not be our last. I can't believe that we haven't tried it before now. We didn't shoot any of the jumping fish because I didn't want to get the boat up in the boils but we just...

    Impressive gas mileage

Even though they were driving it like granny, I am impressed! This engine makes 310 hp to boot.

    The noodling has begun

And it has been lackluster at best so far. Season started on June 1 but work kept me chained down until yesterday. A couple of the guys that set their own schedules got to go and wound up with a flathead of about 35 lbs, 2 near 15 and a blue cat of about 20 lbs. We went yesterday and plucked...
