Placement of graphs in tiller boat

Knowing nothing about how your boat is configured... Another option might be to mount a T-slotted rail on the front & rear of the bench. Allowing a graph mount to slide along that. https://www.mcmaster.com/structural-framing/t-slotted-framing-monitor-mounts-and-positioning-arms/

Placement of graphs in tiller boat

I initially mounted it on the starboard side (as shown in that thread), that didn't work very well for me, I've since moved it to the port side.

Placement of graphs in tiller boat

Is there a lip on the fore / aft edge of your seat? If so I'd think you could make a bracket of the appropriate length, with a "T" slot on the under side, that would wrap around the seat. Make it with just enough clearance so it'll slide along the seat. Add a tapped hole for a jam screw, to...

    1925 Evinrude Ruddertwin

Very nice! I can never quite make the Tomahawk show :( Just got back from up that way last week, our annual Wi vacation, on the Eagle River Chain this year.

25 Yamaha tiller with power trim!

Sorry, I didn't mean to run down your shiny new motor. Congratulations on the purchase, I hope you enjoy it.

25 Yamaha tiller with power trim!

Hahaha. It is just a rocker switch I'd try to MacGyver something more better. I don't see how you could possibly trim (safely) on plane.

25 Yamaha tiller with power trim!

Well that's less than ideal. It's ashamed they cheaped out and just stuck it wherever, without regard to functionality.

25 Yamaha tiller with power trim!

Here is the press release. I really wanted PTT back when I bought my 2017 F25SWHC, almost went with Suzuki, but the weight concerned me. I'm curious about the new tiller with this new model as well. I didn't like the way the tiller kit mounted to the remote version. Please post up some pictures.

2017 Yamaha F25....is it NMEA compatible?

"Does engine have to be running for hours to display?" On my 6y8 gauge no data is available unless the engine is running.

    Leaded Aviation Fuel?

Who'd a thunk ya could learn so much about airplanes on a boating forum?

2017 Yamaha F25....is it NMEA compatible?

RPM, trim, voltage, cooling temp (bar graph, not a number), hours (engine total & trip), & error codes. Cooling pressure requires an optional sensor to be installed. I think the F25 supports it, not positive though. The gauge also has oil pressure, the F25 doesn't support it though.

    Leaded Aviation Fuel?

FWIW, I just stopped at the park district airport & filled up the boat (ethanol free, 91 octane gas) this afternoon.

No personal experience with them. From browsing their site, they seem very willing to answer questions & get you hooked with what you need.

    2020 Yamaha F25 Question

You really want an M42 Cobalt drill bit for drilling SS with a hand drill. Use a spiral point tap if it's a through hole, spiral flute if blind. Preferably use a tap handle & guide to drive it straight. What size thread are you cutting? I could drop a tap drill & tap in the mail to you if...

Good eye, yes it is. I'll share a few pictures of its current incarnation this weekend.

tiller steering - sonar/gps mounting position

The "C" size is perfect for my Helix 7, very solid, the "D" would be way overkill. I'm sure it will work fine for you. That's what RAM reccomends as well: https://www.rammount.com/shop-all/powerboat/fishfinder-mounts?cascade[make]=Lowrance&cascade[model]=ELITE+FS+7

tiller steering - sonar/gps mounting position

I have a 14 foot tin tiller and a Helix 7. I made a bracket to mount it to the gunnel. I originally mounted it on the starboard side, right at the oar lock. I've since moved it to the port side, I much prefer it there. There are a few pics of the starboard install in this thread...

Mcmaster is my goto for most things hardware. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it. https://www.mcmaster.com/
