Filling in Pedestal Seat Holes in Marine Grade Plywood

With a "SLIM" chance that you may want to put a seat back in the boat, and want a flat deck, I would also go with LDUB' second suggestion. I have a 17' Starcraft SFM with 4 of the low-profile pin type seat bases in it, never seemed to be a problem, comes down to your call on what you want to do.

Watch Out for those Little F'ers!

Another thanks for sharing! Those little suckers can cause a lot of problems, anymore while turkey or archery deer hunting I have all my clothing treated with Sawyers permethrin, so far so good and have never had a tick on me while wearing permethrin treated clothing.

    Mercury 30hp 2 stroke 1995

Not sure. but I think the longer the distance the heavier the cable. Since you're running the cable from the bow to the stern you may need to go to a larger cable gauge.

    Military Battery Terminals- Questions

Maybe insert a thin brass/copper 5/16'" ID sleeve/bushing into the bolt holes and then use 5/16" bolts. If you have, or know someone who has a lead melting pot. you could probably fill the existing bolt holes with lead and redrill them to 5/16", there may be a better way, but those two come to...

My new boat would you use this fuel tank

If it's clean inside use it, I have used metal fuel tanks for years.

    Newbie tapered liner ?

If you just want to measure the gap between the liner and the impeller, just remove the jet foot with the grates in it. Then use a feeler gage between the edges of the impeller and the liner to see how much clearance there is, if there is too much clearance remove the impeller and move it up by...

Busted or Missing Corner Cap? Have a Mig Welder?

I would be happy with that outcome, a flap disc is great for use on aluminum, I found that out when repairing the leading edge of a jet foot.

Aluminum Boat: Transom Corner Braces Cracked

It absolutely can be done, I have had broken ears welded back on to a cast aluminum Muncy 4 speed transmission case.

    Part Wanted 1969 14’ Mirrocraft

You may need to fabricate seats unless you can find a donor boat, my first boat was a 14' Mirro Craft, and we caught a lot of fish out of it. Local CL or yard sales may be a source for oars, in the meantime just a paddle might be sufficient.

    Need An Anchor

Couple other options would be a box anchor or a Columbia River anchor, one benefit of a box anchor is that it collapses and doesn't take up a lot of room.

Alumacraft 1542 Front Deck Layout Help Needed

My same thoughts, just install a flat floor in it to make a flat surface for casting from and keep you from tripping on the ribs, personally I would do that before I would put a raised deck on it.

    Fishing License

I bought my PA senior lifetime fishing license 10 years ago and also a lifetime trout stamp. Don't remember what I paid for them then, but as of 2023 just the senior lifetime license is $76.97, and the lifetime trout stamp is no longer available and must be purchased every year. Pa had tried to...

    Can I add Recoil Start?

Pappy posted the solution, I have an electric start 100 HP Mariner with a pull rope in a bag that came with it. I often wondered how hard that motor would be to start using that pull rope and I really don't want to find out, but it's there just in case! In order to use the rope start, I would...

Any experience running fast shallow Appalachian mountain rivers...

Less than a few inches deep with boulders and rocks sounds like it will tear the crap out of a boat sooner or later. I think they make a polymer sheeting to install on the bottom of the hull that would add a lot of protection, but I am not familiar with it. I live between 2 rivers that are the...

I do the same as DaleH with a block of wood, 2 eye screws and a bungy around the lower unit keep it where it belongs.

    Boat Wanted Jon

One word to the wise, if you do install a clamp on seat that just slides over the bench seat, make sure to secure it with some type of bracket so it can't shift to the side and eject the occupant overboard. It happened to me on a buddy's boat, before we secured the clamp on seat. A 1648 MV with...
