    Boat Parts?

There is a Starcraft Yahoo group. Not sure of the link. You may be able to get some parts from folks on there. Looks like the rail around the top edge of the boat is missing as well. You may have a hard time finding that, but it probabl wouldn't be too hard to fabricate. Your boat actually...

V boat mod - newbie questions

I used 2 pieces of tongue and groove plywood to make my deck. I cut them down to where each piece was a little over half the width of the widest part of the deck and a little longer than the deck was going to be. Glued them up and clamped them. Once dried, I had one big piece to make my deck...

    CamoClad

The stuff that they put on trucks is classified as "removable" camoclad. The stuff you use on boats is permanent and hard to get off. I live on a lake full of stumps. The only thing that I would recommend is that you do not put it on the bottom of your boat at all. Just do the sides and...

    Man its HOT!

Hovering right around 100 here. We are supposed to start getting the normal summer showers this week. That means it will rain in the evening from about 4 to 6. Just enough to make it really humid :| Looks like I'll be fishing late nights/early morning before sun up for the rest of the...

Too hot to fish (during the day)!

Very hot down here. 100 degrees in the shade today. Been doing all my fishing at night already. I usually don't start night fishing until late July. It was so hot today, we decided to take the 4wheelers to the creek and do some creek riding.

BPS Products - Quality or Garbage

Clothing is great. So is Excel mono and the flurocarbon. Some of the rods are okay. I've got a nitro reel and love it. cast smooth and very few backlashes. Baits are great. I only use BPS stick baits (senko knock-off). They come like 20 to a pack and are way cheaper.

    Waco 12 ft. Start...till Finish

Don't put bedliner on the bottom of a boat like LBH did over on BR. I believe he said that it peeled off.

Keeping your motor up while transporting

I use a transom saver like most everyone else when I take my boat somewhere. I rarely do though. Most of the time the boat stays on our lake in the boathouse. I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me get another boat that I'll keep trailered to go to other lakes and ponds. I've got boat...

New member, "new" boat, got question!

Love the open floor plan. I wouldn't extend the deck much more than a foot or two if it was me because I like the way that is laid out now. Should be easy to do since you already have a small deck on front and have a flat floor to anchor to. Are you going wood or aluminum for the supports?

    My baby!(!!!MORE PICS ADDED!!!)

I've had both cable and PDs. I currently have a PD and love it. The foot pedal takes some getting used to, but once you get used to it, it is great. Like someone said earlier, the control doesn't sit up as high. Plus I fish barefoot a lot in the spring and summer. I find the pedal is easier...

Opinions on this boat? (Craigslist Ad)

Personally, I would go with the Tracker, but that is just my opinion. I have that same motor on my Starcraft. That thing will fly like it is now. It will still go at a pretty decent clip loaded down with decks, livewells, etc. Plus it's got a bilge pump already and a TM. Both boats are a...

Opinions on this boat? (Craigslist Ad)

Gamefisher outboards were made for Sears by different manufacturers. I believe the one in the pic is made by Mercury. They are okay motors. I have a 15hp that I'm not using right now. Some of the material used on them are cheaper like the metal on the body of the motor, but if you take care...

    My project

Instead of bedliner, you could put foam under the floor to help deaden the sound. I've seen a lot of guye use that pink insulation foam from Home Depot. Just a thought.

    aluminum bonanza

What a find! I wish I had access to that aluminum when I did mine. My mom's husband used to own an awning shop. I remember one year we went out to their scrap pile and got a bunch to make deer stands out of. That square tubing is some tuff stuff. Light too.
