Input on jetting a 16' deep V hull

I think hull weight is listed at 650lb roughly. Then add in 3 batteries, 6gal of fuel, the Ulterra, etc. the weight is part of my thinking on the 60/40 Merc since the Mercury uses the large pump instead of the medium style like the Yamaha. Plus the stainless impeller might help abit more. That...

Input on jetting a 16' deep V hull

Dealers go by what the motor states it is here. I'd imagine the 60/40 would push it decent since it uses the large pump and stainless impeller. I know it won't run like my other dedicated jet hulls but I'm not running crazy stuff.

Input on jetting a 16' deep V hull

Been running OB jets for a long time but earlier this year I made a swap. Id been wanting a deep v hull for years and it's my favorite style boat to fish out of far beyond my jet hulls I had. However I've already learned to hate the 40hp prop on the boat and it's on prop #2 at less than 2 months...

Anyone ran a 1436 hull with an OB jet?

amazingly they list a pump for 2009+ fourstroke 15-20hp. the 18-25 covers those range of powerheads and even if not, the 20 and 25hp will interchange many parts including the foot. The one thing helping with weight is my 1436 is the lightweight model, I think its roughly 120lbs bare hull. So...

Anyone ran a 1436 hull with an OB jet?

The places I want the jet for I do need the jet. And outboard jets has a pump for 1980+ Mercury 2stroke 18-25hp. Lots of 25/20 jets out there and it's basically the same motor which is why I'm hoping to find used. Otherwise it's $1700ish.

Anyone ran a 1436 hull with an OB jet?

About 3 months ago, I bought a brand new 1436 Alumacraft with plans to do a jet jon swap with a Polaris jetski I had. Just before starting the chopping process though I learned that two of the main places I bought the boat to use are electric only so that kinda shot that plan in the foot. Since...

Ergonomics running a 20" shaft OB jet tiller on 20" transom

It's 20" transom but I was going to use a jackplate for the extra lift if I went that route

Ergonomics running a 20" shaft OB jet tiller on 20" transom

Haven't saw a similar setup but needing a 60/40 for a 1652 hull. Don't want Mercury because even given the large pump and SS impeller it ain't no Yamaha. I'd rather trade the bigger pump for long term reliability. Sadly Yamaha don't offer a 15" shaft 60/40. So I'd have the tiller handle up...

What improvements did you make over your initial setup out of curiosity?

UHMW usage on a jetjon, thoughts/advice needed

5 layers of fiberglass in the engine well from side to side and for the length of the graft should suffice in place of adding aluminum plate wouldnt it?

UHMW usage on a jetjon, thoughts/advice needed

could be an idea for stiffness and I'll look into it especially around the area of the graft, however it wouldnt offer that much in impact protection to prevent punctures though.

UHMW usage on a jetjon, thoughts/advice needed

Well given the thin hull i think I do want to do UHMW. If I go with 1/4" how much hardware should I use to attach it? Just between the ribs? Also any good source to buy the UHMW from?

UHMW usage on a jetjon, thoughts/advice needed

any pics of the studs welded on? If i were to attach with hardware then I may go 1/4", but I would prefer to glue on and thats why I was thinking 1/8th would be easier to work with.

UHMW usage on a jetjon, thoughts/advice needed

I may be completely wrong but seems like going with 1/8" itd be fairly easy to work with and for a 1436 hull not too terribly expensive. I'm just thinking if it's worth adding I'd rather do it before putting the motor and everything in the boat while it'd still be easy to flip and work with...

UHMW usage on a jetjon, thoughts/advice needed

I'm in the process of building a jet jon which will involve me grafting part of the jetski into a new alumacraft hull. The rivers I will be running will have some rocks and boulders, nothing giant, but while the boat is going to be flipped doing the graft I was considering ordering some 1/8-1/4"...

    Advice on bowfishing bow?

The Mission Archery bows are great starter bows for bowfishing, I'd shop around and try to find a used Oneida though. Oneida is in a class all to itself. For rests check out the Quickdraw rest too. Very happy with them and I've always been a whisker biscuit fan for regular archery.

    Bottle or Reel style retriever?

If you don't shoot huge fish I'm a fan of the AMS. My Pro would smoke any reel styles on retrieve speed. But we have grasscarp and the reel style brings more to the table against them.

question for grafting jet ski hull into jon hull

yesterday i finished stripping my donor jet ski down and will be cutting the hull soon. For those who have grafted the pump/tunnel/motor mount section from your donor ski into an aluminum hull, what is the best way to go about? epoxy, glass, hardware, mixture of all 3? After an exhaustive search...
