This looks fantastic! Is it going to stay black? Could be good capturing the sun's rays during cold walleye fishing months.

Some notes about using fairing compound, that stuff is magic for hiding defects and providing a great finish.
Make sure it's UV protected as the epoxy component can be degraded. Also most recommend epoxy coating it since fairing compound is made for ease of filling and sanding, not necessarily for final finish quality or waterproof-ness. I've failed to top coat it properly in the past and anywhere I used fairing compound picked up dirt and oils differently from the surfaces next to it and always looked off.

Re-reading your post, I see you say you covered it with Tuff Coat. Ignore all the above, but I'm not deleting it. Great job! Is that hatch in your bench seat a Tempress one? I've been looking at those and would like to hear your opinion on it.

Thanks! The hatch is a Tempress. I’m impressed with the quality. The only thing that was annoying was that I couldn’t tell if it came with the tackle inserts, so I ordered some. It does in fact come with 4...so now I have 8. :)

The floor is going to be fitted with mats from MarineMat out of Oldsmar, FL. They send you clear plastic sheeting to make your template and then you can do either stick on or snap on. I’m going with the snaps. I’m going to do that gray and green fish scale pattern that is in one of the pictures. The outside is going to be black and green. I just dropped it off to have the black/green fish skeleton wrap put on today.

The next item (which probably should have been the first), is to address the trailer. Tires were 15 years old and the wheels were different sizes (got a good chuckle out of that one). Two sets of lights (none of which work) need to be replaced. After replacing the wheels and tires, in my haste to get moving in the dark in 25 degree weather, I neglected to put the old school grease fittings back on, which made for a surprise mess when I got it home.

Finally, the coupler needs to be adjusted, as the dang thing popped off on my ball hitch...on a downhill grade...in front of a local cop...while I was moving it with a loaner vehicle that is not supposed to be used to tow anything. All in all, this weekend has been a comedy of errors, most of which were solely based on my poor decisions.

Should make for a good story, though.

I scrapped the trailer and finished the boat. My Honda outboard is stuck on a tanker ship due to customs delays. Maybe I can get some walleye next winter.
