[QUOTE="fbmikey1, post: 494821, member: 25059"] I acquired this 1992 Lowe 17’ boat with 1991 motor and trailer, in a trade in October 2019. We ran and fished it on the ICW and mouth of the Brazos River in TEXAS until December, as-is,with minimal problems. In early 2020 I disassembled the floor and moved the consul out-of-the-way to see what I was actually dealing with. Found all ribs cracked around the center of the bottom area, where a previous attempts have been made to shore up these areas by welding in some aluminum. After inspection the decision was made to finish boxing in previous areas that had been worked on. I also decided to add additional support to the structure by installing some 1/4” and 3/6” stringers.Added additional support to transom by tying it into the new material 1” angle.
