80's Mercury 7.5 reverse lock rod retainer

Mercury 7.5 part number 61007 retainer clip..

Any sources that are not priced ridiculously high? Substitution perhaps?

fleabay, shipping will make those about $20 or so. Less if you buy a bag of them.

Call around your local dealers, chances are any larger dealer that was around in the 80's has a butt load of parts still on the shelf for those motors.

7.5 and 9.8hp were almost identical motors if you pick up a parts motor.
