Just received my new 2022 9.9 Mercury 4 stroke outboard. Love the electric start which is nice for older folks like me! Have it on my 14' aluminum v-hull, made by the predecessor to Princecraft called ABC boats. Probably a 1975 model, solid still. I did have trouble with it getting on plane, fully loaded. I added a hydro foil and works excellent now. Anyone out there with a similar size motor?

I have that motor on my 12' Jon boat. Pull start. Keeps me in shape.
I like it for what I use it for. I tuck it in tight and can get 20 mph on still, flat water. But the best thing about this motor is it's trolling capabilities. You can putt along at 2 or 3 mph all day and hardly use any gas. I hope you enjoy your Mercury.

I've got one for a kicker on my 16 foot flat bottom. Originally I had it on my 1436 but now I use it for trolling and as a backup if needed. It doesn't push the 16 very well but it'll get me home if needed. I'd like to use it on my 20 foot Mako but I don't think it has enough umph.
