I guess the question is which will handle a 75 hp. I have noticed some boats ride to low at the transom. It will be mainly used in saltwater. Any advice is welcome.

The Lowe 1860 (what year are you looking at?) will handle a 75 hp with no issues. Balance the boat by moving batteries or fuel to the front. I added pods to mine and moved batteries to the front along with a Minn Kota anchor winch.

1 reason for low riding is a boat that is made for a SHORT SHAFT motor.

I would never take a short shaft to salt water. Big wakes are sneaky from a cruiser passing a mile away. Got very lucky with my Chaparral 186 glass bow rider & a passing fast freighter 5' white capped waves. Water rolled within 3" of windshield top. I had the bow cover in place.
