I have a nice 16' Old Town canoe that I haven't used in years. Thinking about dusting it off and using it.

I'd like to stretch my legs, stand to cast and take it on bigger water, and am curious if anyone has used stabilizing outriggers on their canoe?

yep..set for a 18ft and 13ft. Made outa 3" thin wall pvc..14ft long for 18ft and 10ft for 13ft. Could enter water from pontoon side and climb back in without any issue..and would hold my 4hp without issues when tied to dock.

Made several incarnations. Just made one for port side. Boiled up 20 gallons of water..with end caped i poured in boiling water and bent pontoon to shape. When cooled it will hold shape. Made in 2006 and still use it..

Interesting. I saw a youtube video about making them yourself from PVC. It's an idea, but the pair above would be easy.
Thanks for the reply.
