been searching the web. am pondering a diy leaning post for my 1756 cc. mayber emt bent and an upholstered plywood backrest. maybe bend the top back to make a little seat. anyone ever done it? something similar? thanks
 
Are you looking for something that just bolts together or is welded? What style of boat is it?
 
Look at conduit canopy fittings. Cheap and easy.

center console g3 1756. just looked at electrical plastic conduit and emt. it looks easy to do. would like to use a floor flange cut to make a flat side to butt up against my back deck and some u hangers.
 
I made mine and would not trade it for anything pre made. Every aspect is perfect for my use. Height, fit over fuel tank, foot rest height and the fact that it fits two square Stearns throwable devise seat cushions that are cheap to replace. I turned a few bolts around as mentioned.
