I know this is an old thread, but I'm hoping you can tell us how the boat performs after adding the jack plate and splash guards. I also have a 15' Gregor and will be installing a jack plate and possibly splash guards. Been running the boat with a 4 stroke 20 hp Tohatsu for about 8 years now. A little extra freeboard would be nice when fishing the bay.

I guess I'm the odd guy out. I have one of these type mounts that I made to put on my boat to mount a kicker motor. Something to keep in mind when using these is that the farther they move the motor away from the transom the more weight you're effectively putting on the transom. It will cause the boat to squat more in the water. If you only have a 15 inch transom to begin with it's something to keep in mind. Another thing is it causes your tiller to effectively become shorter the further it moves away from the transom also.
