G3 1652 Hatch mod

Hello all!

First time poster here. I’ve got a 2003 G3 1652 that I got from a buddy of mine. Storage kinda sucks so I’m looking to add a couple of 24”x14” hatches on the front side of the aft seat. There is foam inside and I notice it’s holding water from the posts. Anyone ever added hatches back here or know of you can? My main concern is structural integrity of the seat.

As a G3 and G3 Jet Boat FB member, storage is a common discussion. I have not seen hatches on the front side, though. On our 2022 17' CCJ the gas tank would limit the depth of that storage. My understanding is that there is some oportuninty in the port and starboard side panels. The DLX models do come with storage there. Not sure if that aplys to your older model, but might be worth investigating.
