part number 0313543 evinrude 1978 impeller housing, when the drive shaft is in place thru the housing is it supposed to be a water tight seal or what? i see there is an oring that goes over the housing but I dont see what the purpose of this is and since the shaft is spinning it is still going to get water in it because thats the impellers main purpose right? Im including a pic to show you all. Thanks in advance!!
