Hi Everyone
I’m a newbie to tinboats and wanted to find out if anyone knew anything about Indiana Homemade Boats. I recently traveled to Louisville KY and purchased a 1966 1448 Jon. When I got it home and started doing research on the VIN, i quickly discovered that the beginning of the number started with INZ and identified Indiana Homemade Boats.

I’m restoring this old boat and was hoping there might be some pictures out there and someone knew some information about them

What you have is a production boat that lost it's title or never had one. The state of Indiana issued a new title and classified it as "homemade".
If you post some pictures we might be able to identify what it really is.

Here’s a few pics of what I have right now. One thing that really caught my attention was the almost wing shape design back on the transom. The person I purchased it from put in the new decking and carpet

Let me know if they didn’t download and I’ll try it again

Then could this boat be an older model Monark..??

However, when looking at the Lowe boats, it appears to have that same upward pattern on the Transom that mine has

It is of coursed a Rivited boat and the only leak in the thing is the plug doesn’t fit well and needs replaced.

Still need to clean it up, but I have salvaged my dads old 1959 Evinrude Fisherman and got it running. From time to time I want to run it on this 1966 Jon boat...Should make a classic set up

Found what appears to be the same style knee brace on the Appleby boats, plus that same upward angle on both sides of the transom

Here are the knee braces on a 1971 Appleby Jon boat. I’m getting extremely confident that mine is indeed an Appleby unless there is something else I can look for that will identify it better..???

If the length of the boat is 5 meters then I will venture to assume that this is a Tracked amphibian It is for E-3A.

That transom brace looks like the ones fisher was putting out in the 70s-80’s

Hope im not adding a red herring, but I just bought a used jon with similar transom braces and ‘wings’

This is a 1987 Lowe ‘Big Jon’ (1648)

Some time back I started this thread and was trying to figure out what brand boat I have. I finally have the conversion almost done but question of what brand boat and year still eat at me……. Again…..it is titled as a homemade boat in Indiana, but from the looks of the transom braces and the style of the boat….If Lowe only put two screws in the transom braces…..did Appleby put four…….? Any thoughts and help from all of you is greatly appreciated
