Here’s a few pics of the progress. Rebuilt the trailer (huge job) and painted with single stage urethane. Cut the transom out. Laminated an new wooden transom spar. Incredibly strong. Sealed it to last for years. Had a new spar cap welded on. Then I fabricated angular transom support braces to redirect the majority of the torsion (upper and lower) load on the boat’s cross section rather than the typical weak points. Upgraded from a 9.8 to a new 20hp. Fabricated a trolling motor mount. Still need to paint the boat, but that can wait until spring. Might need to bump up the wheels to 13” instead of 12”. I’ve only got 8.5 inches of ground clearance between the bottom of the motor’s foot and the ground :|

That looks really good.

Invest in a transom saver rather than larger tires for the trailer. That should get the skeg higher than the axle.

X2 - trailer with the motor tilted up. I use a M-Y Wedge style. I find it easier to us than the typical trailer mounted transom savers.
