Looking for some flooring advice on this welded aluminum jet boat, it had plywood covered in vinyl that rotted away. looking for something i will never have to replace. The ribs are 2 feet on center planning on using total boat 2lb density foam under floor. Can I get away with 1/16 diamond plate? I'll probably weld in some angle under the two post seats I plan on installing. Thinking about bolting down the diamond plate for future maintenance. How well does total boats closed cell foam hold up? Can I use 2lb first half then 6lb on top?

I do a lot of metal fab and aluminum welding. Go with .063 aluminum tread plate and closed cell foam between the strakes. The foam will add flotation and support for the floor. It will be solid and as light as you can get.
