I would think so. I have a 1652 Lowe with a 60/45 Merc and it planes with 3 people fine. If you add too much weight/gear, it could be an issue with the flat bottom. Mine is a modified V.

I’ve had 2 16/48 alweds in the past both had 70 hp with jets on them the did well but this boat has higher sides and 60” bottom I know it’s going to be heavier, I just don’t know if a 90/65 would help that much being a 100 lbs heavier

It should work well enough as long as your expectations aren't overly high and the boat is setup/balanced properly. Is it going to be a speed demon with 3 guys? No, but it should get you around just fine.

That's why I mentioned weight distribution. Really need to have any batteries and the gas tank near the front. if you do then you'll be fine, if the batteries and gas tank are in the back then it will probably be over weight.

Are the outboard jets from rainboat different from outboard jet? The reason l am asking this I called Outboard jets they told me that I have an L series pump on my 75 hp Evinrude and that it would not fit a bigger motor but on Rainboats website they say their jet for the 1981 75 will also fit a 48,88,112 Spl motors something evidently is different or I am not seeing this correctly it could be me but this is confusing to me,any help clarifying this would be appreciated.

Where are you seeing on rainboats that the same jet fits the 48, 88, 112 motors? The numbered comments at the bottom of the page showing #22 and #23 refer to the AF93, AFC93 and R85-92 pumps like noted on the Outboardjets site. Your motor has the L60 or L60C pump which looks to be specific to the 55-75 hp motors. I would listen to what Outboardjets is telling you.

Did you ever find the tag on your jet unit showing the model code? Mine is missing the tag for some reason but I know it's an original Mercury jet outboard so it's no big deal to me.

No but I know it’s a Model L pump I’m going to put the 75 on my boat and see how it does,Thank You for trying to help.
