Looking for creative way to store my boat registration while out on the Jon Boat for easy quick access when the law man floats up & also to keep it from blowing out. I could just use a zip lock bag and toss it somewhere, but maybe you have a special netting that holds it in place so it cant blow out? Would love to see your pics if you got something creative that works.

I put a copy of the boat registration in a ziploc bag along with my fishing license. That ziploc is then put in my boat bag. Boat trailer registration is kept with the truck registration in the console of the truck.

I kept it for a time in my floating tackle box in a zip lock bag X's 2. When I moved up to a larger boat I kept it in my wallet and dropped my wallet in the boats glove box in zip lock bags x's 2.

In my wallet with all the rest of the crap you need to carry nowadays!!! One thing I have started doing is taking a nice clear pic with my phone of all the paperwork for car, insurance, atv, boat, trailer, fishing license etc. From those pics the officers can pull numbers, dates or anything else they need !! So far, the police/ dnr have had no issues with that.....

Air shot, that’s not a bad idea.

Crazyboat, you can buy small dry bags that will hold your wallet. They work quite well, ask any white water rafter. Ziplock baggies, not so much.

That reminded me of river cataraft trip in Oregon a few years ago. River permits are required and strictly enforced. I was at the take-out at the end of a five day trip when an officer asked for my river permit. I promptly removed it from a dry bag and handed it to him. At that moment thunder boomed and it began to pour rain, it washed the inkjet ink right off the page in a matter of moments. The guy at least had a since of humor, he grinned and said, “So much for that!”

Mine is in the truck. If they really want it that bad we’ll need to go the ramp. I’ve always found the need for caring extra paper redundant. The registration is on the side of the boat in big numbers and letters.
Seems like your making an awful lot of trouble for yourself over a simple requirement. Stick it in something waterproof and tie it in the boat somewhere. Or, put it in a small Ziplok bag and duct tape it somewhere on the inside of the boat. I had mine in a small waterproof plastic thingy about the size of a cigarette case with a lanyard on it inside my little orange boat box which was always with me in the boat. Had our fishing licenses in there as well.

I stick mine in my orange floating key chain that's in the ignition switch of the boat. The key chain comes apart, never had a problem.

I don't, the numbers are on the side. Thankfully I live in a free state, probably the last one in the nation. Never been asked for it the few times I've been checked

I keep all of my boat registrations together in the licence pouch that comes with fishing licenses in my wallet, so I always have them with me, no matter which boat I'm in. I get stopped, and I have it all ready to go for law enforcement.

I ALSO keep a copy in every boat. That way, if someone else is running they boat, they have a copy. In my jon, it's in the hatch where the flares are, in the CC, it's in the console where the flares are, and in the pontoon, it's in the glove box where the flares are.

I have a small drybox left over from my kayak days, my phone and wallet go in there when I am on my boat. The phone thing is becomming accepted everywhere. Friends with the local sherriff, and he has confirmed that most everyone is accepting pics of documents for most things as long as all pertinent information is shown. Worst case might ve having to show up at a later date with the actual document. Has worked for me with auto ins papers, my atv reg while on the trail...my boat reg. and even my gun permit !! Just be sure you have the actual documents availiable in case your challenged.

Keeping everything on the phone is a great idea. I have a lot of stuff stored on the IPHone, but not vehicle registration and or proof of insurance type doc's. Additionally, records are digitized these days. Easy for Law Enforcement to verify just about anything (if they really want to).

I use small plastic (like ammo boxes) boxes that are waterproof. One box for first aid kit and one box for spare drain plug, small parts, and registration. One other box for other misc items.

In Tennessee we can now order plastic reg cards the size of a credit card. They are firm and waterproof. I keep one in tackle box & ordered a second to keep in billfold. Put billfold and phone and cash in waterproofi box when launching.

I keep that type of stuff in my wallet.

I keep my wallet, keys, cell phone, sun screen and any other item I want to keep track of in a zip lock bag.

I put the zip lock bag in a five gallon bucket with a few tools, lines and other misc items that I deem necessary.

I carry nothing in my pockets, except my reading glasses in my t shirt pocket.

I’m talking about my 1648, which has no modifications, it has three bench seats.

When I had my Ranger BB, I kept the zip lock bag in the center compartment between the driver & passenger seats.

When I rebuild my 1751 Polar Kraft Tunnel boat, I plan on building a center console, with storage for my zip lock bag of valuables.

That plastic card is a great idea. I wish we had that.

I keep my keys and wallet in my pockets. Probably not the best practice, but I've been carrying them that way for years and pretty confident they will stay put. I hadn't really thought about it, but guess if the worst ever happens and I have to exit the boat, water won't seriously damage either and I would rather keep those things on me.
