Check out the World’s FASTEST Electric Jon Boat Youtube video from FIREANT. This particular boat is powered by a 50hp Elco electric outboard and 680 lbs of Lithium batteries. I love the idea of going electric and having the ability to hit waters that don’t allow gas. However, the cost is out of reach for a few of us with today’s prices. This is cutting-edge stuff no doubt. I don’t have an opinion yet but. my concern is that there will be too much weight on this boat if it’s going to be used for tournament fishing. If you think about adding fishing gear, a livewell, and an angler or two, it might be too much. If this is just a showboat to showcase where the future is headed, then this is awesome. I will follow this build to completion and reserve my judgment until I see the final product.
