Hi everybody. So I've learned how to throw my little 3 foot cast net from a seated position. I need to know what to look for to find shad in my home water. I live in Arkansas and mainly fish in the tail waters of the lake, from where it starts to really widen into the lake down to where the...
Heres a link to a website. They have tons of parts even some of the older parts. They have never failed to have what I needed and they ship really fast. Hope it helps.

My two suggestions are simple but sometimes its all it is. The first is make sure your primer bulb is in a straight up and down position with the arrow pointing up. Most of them have gravity balls in them that will restrict fuel flow if in another position. Second is to check your fuel filter...
Just cut a piece of board, plastic or what ever and hinge it to your back bench. Attach a small piece of wood to the inside of your transom for it to rest on...bingo, an inclosed bilge compartment.
When you hit that wake did your primer bulb fall sideways? Reason I'm asking is a lot of the fuel primer bulbs have stop balls in them(Don't know what the real name is). It allows fuel to flow when the arrow on the side is pointing up but if the bulb falls on its side or pointing down the ball...
I agree with hildebrandr990. That was the same thing that happened to mine. I think it was getting vapor locked. When I switched the tanks out it stopped.
So was this your old motor or is it new to you? However you got it, your very lucky it fired up with little effort. Not using an outboard is by far the worst thing you can do to it(running it out of the water excluded of course).
Sorry to tell you this but your going to have to replace the cable. Usually what happens is the cable will fray inside the tube and get locked up. But maybe someone else here knows more about it.
With some money and hard work you could make this into a beautiful water craft. I wouldn't start dropping money in that old engine though. Just because it fired up does not mean its a good engine. I've seen people drop as much money in an old engine as it would have cost to buy a much newer...
I had a motor with remote oil res. First thing I did was to unhook it. I mixed my own oil and gas. I Don't trust a pump. If it gos out the motor is still running and using straight gas..
I had a similar issue with my 9.9 merc. I had a 6 gallon fuel tank with a vent in the cap. I just dealt with it for a while. Then for a completely different reason I switched the tank. I wanted a smaller tank to save room and weight. I got an Attwoods 3 gallon ventless tank. I have not had an...
Well you see I think it may have been my neighbors teenage son. If he took the tank there would be evidence. I asked his dad if he had seen anyone around my boat and he said no. My gas tank and motor is in the garage now. Fool me once...lol
