Looks great so far! How is the stability on those decks?

Tracker 1542 "Crappie Daze" updated April 10 carpet / paint

What kind of rivets did you re-rivet the hull with? I'd like to take out the stock livewell but all I know about is pop-style rivets. I'm apprehensive popping holes in my new boat.

    Another Tracker 1542

I'm really liking the size of this boat as well. I was fishing an inlet last night but I ran out into the big water to check some pilings and it handled pretty rough chop very well. Two guys standing up fly fishing was no issue at all. And yes, fly fishing for striped bass is just about my...

Tracker 1542 "Crappie Daze" updated April 10 carpet / paint

Looking good. The first thing I want to do to mine is remove that teeny livewell.

    Another Tracker 1542

Over the winter, I realized I spend more time working on boats than I do fishing. I sold my two fiberglass boats, a motor, a trailer, and got myself a new, simple rig. I wanted the Alumacraft 1542 but the local dealer rubbed me the wrong way when I went in with cash in hand. I was apprehensive...

    Hanging off trailer?

Thanks for the help guys. I have been looking at the foldaway tongue. I have an extra length of 3" steel tube (same as is on the tongue). Would it be safe to sleeve the two pieces together with a piece of 3 1/2 square tubing, bolt it, and then get a reinforcing weld a little later?

Looks great man! I recently bought the same boat and after fishing it some have a couple ideas for mine.

    Hanging off trailer?

How far is too far for a boat to hang off the back of a trailer? I am about to rebuild the bunks on my trailer, it had a 13 footer on it previously and my new 1542 is hanging off a bit. My plan is to extend the bunks so that they are 30" from the back of the trailer. I will have a 25hp Evinrude...

Dyeguy's 1648 Mod- Pics Update... DONE

Very nice man, you have really done an amazing job. I'm already drooling over a 16 foot V for the shallow water Chesapeake fishing I do and I'm not even done my 12 mod.

12 foot extra wide aluminum Gamefisher

Alright, so I was taking my time working on the bottom but now the lady wants to go out on Sunday to try for some croaker. So I have ground most of the old paint off the bottom, filled some dents, ground them out, and washed it down. I think tonight after I get off I'll take some 5200 fast to...

    everything steelflex

Cool, thanks guys. That's what I figured. I'm in the process of filling with epoxy putty and then I'll steelflex it. I can't wait to be done with these leaky rivets and seams!

    everything steelflex

Got my gallon of steelflex today. Has anyone filled dents and applied steelflex over it? I would think it would work well since steelflex is an epoxy. I have the hull ground down to bare aluminum but a few spots really need attention.

My new project - 12' Sears Semi-V *Pic Update 3/21*

Nice, looks just like mine did except yours came in good shape, haha. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.

12 foot extra wide aluminum Gamefisher

Sorry for the lack of updates. I had a big fishing excursion this past weekend that I had to hustle to get everything ready for. Here is what I was able to throw together in time for the outing, I will be re-doing a few things in the next day or two. Got an automated call from UPS earlier...
