I got my Ipilot installed on my Riptide ST. That thing is amazing. Best 400 I have spent on the boat. The electronic anchor function alone is worth the price.
Anybody ever run a Turbo Hot Shot or a Stiletto Triad Stainless Prop? I'm still hunting performance with my 40HP Merc 4 stroke and am looking for some opinions. Do the smaller motors benefit from SS props for performance or is it just durability gains? Any help would be appreciated.
I have a 1654sc and it is fantastic. They did get a bad rap when they first started doing welded hulls but seem t have it sorted out now. I bought the last year of the 1654 and feel the 54 bottom adds a lot in stability. Pm me if you want and I would be willing to discuss over the phone.
Best I've seen by myself was 32.8 and 31 with 2 people. Usually its more like 29-30. The good news is that its super fuel efficient and quiet since its a 4 stroke. My cruising speed is 21-23 for best efficiency.
My lowrance he's has a tripmeter for the current day and totals. I just got it last summer. Furthest day was right at 20 miles and avg is about 15. I was surprised that I went 280ish miles last summer.
I have a friend who has the tiller version of my boat with a 25hp on it. He and a...
That thing runs great. I have a friend with a 1654 Tiller and has a 25 on it. Best he can get out of it is 19. Width is great for stability but sure kills speed. Heck my 1654SC with a 40 4 stroke will only hit 31 with 2 people and a load and I've worked to get that. Yours runs very well.

Even the 3.5 will be way faster than a 50lb trolling motor. Hull speed usually takes 150-200lb of thrust. The Minn Kota edrive motors are rated 2HP and supposed to be actually 2.4HP so this should peg the hull speed but I agree no planing.

I have the 1654SC version of the boat. That sounds like exactly what I have for the plate. I'm using the rapid jack version, I think they have a cheaper one that adjust differently. Mine is really easy to adjust. I was running the motor even with the cavitation plate even with the bottom...
I have a 1654SC myself and put a 6" setback Rapid Jack jackplate and it is great. It helped the boat and definitely allows the motor to be higher for shallow water.

I know this is kind of old, but I figured it might help someone anyway. I don't know if mine are the low profile or not, but I definitely have the ones from Cabelas and they are great. Makes loading the boat super easy.

That's what I figured. I have a friend in MN that has one on his trailer and it's for a Lund deep V style aluminum boat with an 80HP 4 stroke yamaha. I'm sure it weighs much more than our setups and he's never had issue with it in about 7 years. I know we are way under the 3500 lb rating for...
