Possibly Dumb Question about Marine Carpet

I am trying to put some carpet on some wood for just a small part of my boat and I have some carpet. The problem is... I don't know which side of the carpet is up  . One side is more flat and gray in color and feels more waterproof, the other side is more like carpet. Which side do I...

    paddle holders

I actually picked up this piece at Wal-Mart today. It is a rod holder but I tried it with my paddles and it worked great (on dry land), and I still have room for a couple of rods as well. Hopefully it will work as well out on the water...

    paddle holders

I am looking for the same thing. Thought about using some kind of rod holder but haven't found anything that fits correctly yet. If you try these or find anything please let me know. I'll do the same.

Trying to fix up an older boat could use a little help...

Hey guys, It's been a while. I got the boat primed and am waiting on a warm day to paint but I would like to go ahead and cut the piece of wood for the transom. I know I shouldn't use treated wood but is there any particular type of wood that is suggested? Thanks

Trying to fix up an older boat could use a little help...

Well, we got what we hope is all of the leaks sealed up yesterday. I have decided to go ahead and get the whole boat down to bare aluminum and start from scratch, so I am planning to try to finish up that sanding this afternoon. Thanks again for all the help so far guys.

Trying to fix up an older boat could use a little help...

Ok, we got most of the sealing done today but now we are stuck trying to decide what to do about primering/painting the boat. I am not that concerned with making it look great because it is just a boat for hunting/fishing but I want to make sure that it is not going to rust or run into any...

Trying to fix up an older boat could use a little help...

I am not sure what you mean by "rebucking" the rivets, does that mean taking them out and replacing them or just trying to get them as tight as possible before putting a sealant on them? Thanks again for the help guys, brand new to any of this stuff and could not do it without y'all.

Trying to fix up an older boat could use a little help...

We were thinking about a floor but weren't sure how to go about it. Would you just maybe put carpet on plywood and kind of wedge in in the bottom of the boat or attach it to the boat or am I way off on that?

Trying to fix up an older boat could use a little help...

I have had this boat for a while but haven't had the time or money to fix it up. I still don't have the money so I am trying to stay on as limited budget as possible but I want to fix it right. I am planning to use it mostly for smaller fishing but would like to be able to duck hunt out of it...
