How to determine unknown fuse size!

Haven't been on here for a while. Got a new to me 1990 161 Fishing Machine Sea Nymph, 40 Hp Johnson. I am starting to undue rat hair of rewiring by previous owner... but want to be able to fish for season. I will not be replacing original wiring until fall so I am cleaning up the electrical...

Gluvit under Steelflex - Good Idea?

Windman7, I had the same thought, well sort of! Coat-it or Gluv-it on the underside of the hull and then priming bare aluminum spots where the Coat-it was not needed and then painting. I have carpet in 12 ft floater from the previous owner and really did not want to take up. I have no leaks but...

    Replacing wood transom

Read all about transoms in the forums. Questions I have are...do I have to double two pieces of plywood or can I get away with 1 piece of same sized lumber? And, how bad will it be if that piece of lumber is pine? My floater is only a 12 footer and the most I will have on it is either or...

Captain Ahab and RivRunR, thanks for the reassuring! #-o ! And guess what? Motor came yesterday, plug and receptacle came today, power center is waiting for me to pick up and I Is Smiling! Flipped the floater over today to clear the leaves and water out of it and I actually looked at...

    12 footer, shallow v-hull, TM, connections...feeling STUPID

Read alot of posts on connections and set-ups! Talked with Minn Kota rep, read on-line info about AWG wire and circiut breakers and total distance of cable...still unsure! Okay, that is out of my system, phew! No need working on my lil' floater if I can't get it to move, right? So here is what...

=D> Hey Mizzie, you have answered my prayers! [-o< I have a 12 foot 1980 Blue Fin and have had so many questions that I could not visualize the end result. Man, you made that look sooo easy. I am just a week-end plunker when it comes to fishing and boating. Just learning to fish, but I soon...

How much thrust for 12 foot v-hull?

=D> Thanks y'all! I believe I am going to go with the 45#er and see how it goes with just one battery. My main concern was not being stranded in the middle of the water and having to paddle back to land. Yeah, it will be a Minn Kota, but only a transome mount. Slowly but surely I am piecing my...

How much thrust for 12 foot v-hull?

Thanks Tim for the info! Now what about having the juice to go all day? No gas motor at all! What are your thoughts on just one battery or two for parallel banks?

How much thrust for 12 foot v-hull?

Hey Tinnies! At the point of buying a new TM. Will be mainly using it on lakes and edges of slow moving rivers in eastern part of North Carolina. Will a 55 lb. thrust be overkill or can I get along with a 45 lb. thrust. Going out mainly by myself. Basic fishing rig. Thinking of running two deep...

Hey y'all, possibly getting my lil' 12 footer in the water soon. Looking at trolling motors. I want power at the least cost :!: Saw this brand on Wally Worlds site. Never heard of their trolling motors. 54 lb thrust for $175. Worth it or should I keep loking?

Installing New Bunks...NEED HELP AND ADVICE

Thanks Nomowork and JMicheal! Figured 2 x 6's would lighten the wear on the rivets. And JM I understand on the 2 -3 inch iron welded on top of the leaf bearing angle iron. Yeah I do plan on taking out that cross 2 x4 that the keel is resting on. That was a shot of the mid section of the trailer...

Installing New Bunks...NEED HELP AND ADVICE

Never worked with metal to this degree before and am taking my time to think this through! Facts: 12 foot v-hull on older homemade trailer. Bunk set-up is 2x4's on edge attached by single point at back cross frame of trailer. Has flat 2x4 attached to middle crossbar, stern keel roller and keel...
