I was working on my motor yesterday and my 4 year old son was helping me and he arced a wrench between the hot post and small ground post on the starter solenoid. Now the motor has no spark. Any help or direction would be much appreciated.

I have a 89 Johnson 25 jet. The motor has the 35 carb and intake and a set of Chris Carson reeds in it. I'm having some trouble wit the motor missing/backfiring through the carb. It will idle fine and run wide open but anywhere in between it backfires through the carb. Any ideas or suggestions...
