    Squeeze bulb

When im done fishing, I disconnect the fuelline on my outboard to take the tank out of the boat. I can feel the bulb and the fuel line still have fuel in them, and when I reconnect the next time im out,as soon as i plug in the fuel line and the pin is pressed in, fuel squirts out from the hose...

    Bunk cushioning

Just curious, does anyone put any rubber or stiff foam on top of their bunks before carpeting to provide some cushioning? Ive never seen it done on here, but I know its sometimes done on sailboat trailers.

    Stern Seating question

Im starting to plan for a second 'phase' of my build fromlast year. Im revisiting installing a seat at the stern. Ive seen a lot of people mount their seats dead centre, and im wondering how would you operate the tiller from that position? Wouldnt an offset be better? I was going to initially...

    Trailer Speed

Im curious what is considered a safe speed for highway driving with a trailer with boat on. I know it probably varies according to tire size and weight. Ive got 12" tires on my rig, and its an older heavy steel trailer from the sixties, but the frame is solid, and the axle and bearings are...

I Love the Smell of Outboards in the Morning.....but

Ok this is weird, so I dont blame you if you read this and think Im nuts, but..everytime we go out in the boat, when we get home I keep thinking I smell the outboard. And its not my clothes or me, this goes for a few days and other things trigger it, like the other day I opened a pack of rubber...

    Fuel line and storing

I have a 1977 9.9 evinrude on my boat. I keep my boat in my garage during the summer because I trailer it to different places and back. In order to fit and still give me access to 'garage items', I take the motor off and store it on a stand with the gas tank on the floor beneath it. I usually...

    1960 Gator Trailer

After scratching my head for 2 months and searching on the interweb, I finally found my exact trailer that came with my boat, its a 1960 Gator. From what im reading, its a classic for boat restorers, but I like it because it tilts and the transom bunks are levered so they lower when tilting to...

    Boat name location

When lettering a boat with a 'given' name (ie, not brand or make) where does it usually go? Ive always have thought stern on smaller boats, up at the bow for ships. The sides near the stern are usually the brand name arent they?

Just acquired my first boat, a 14' Sylvan and tilt trailer that Im going to mod based on the wonderful mods Im seeing here! Before I begin my mod, I had a question about the transom. The actual transom is in very good condition, but on the outside of the boat the previous owner had put a 1/4...
