This is a 14', 1970 Duracraft that I bought for $200. The transom, and rear seat, had been on fire and had to be replaced. I redid this boat last summer and just sold it. I hated to sell it, but I needed a bigger boat so the whole family could go. I just joined this site and thought I would go ahead and share my first boat mod while I work on the next one. I ended up buying an 18' flat bottom river john with a 1978 35hp johnson for $500. Another fixer upper, but the price was in my budget.mini-100_2092.jpg

I will try and get some pictures of my new project soon.

Not sure how it caught on fire. It looked like the fire stared under the rear seat. Just glad I wasn't in it when it happened :!:

Great job! There is something to be said about a nice open floor plan! =D> Same plans for the next one?

Thank you so much for joining!

Jim

:WELCOME: aboard! What part of s. Illinois? I played Jr. college baseball at Lincoln Trail before transferring to a 4 yr. school and my inlaws live in Vincennes.

Jim, haven't decided yet, part of the middle bench seat had already been removed, so it will probably have to go.
I'll get a picture up soon to show you what I mean. Maybe you guys will have some ideas.

Alumacraftjoe, I live about an hour north of carbondale, in a small town of about 3,000.

Jim, this is what I'm working with now. can't decide if i want to leave the bench, take it out, or split it and make two small benches with a walkway through the middle. Its 18' foot and I don't want to take away from the stability. Suggestions are always welcome.
