1996 force 75hp keeps blowing ingition fuse

hey guys need some help here. I have a 1996 force 75hp and it keeps blowing the 20 amp fuse in the engine compartment. When it happens nothing will work on boat but trolling motor. The boat had glass type fuses in it and when I was checking them, I noticed the ground looked like it got hot and melted the terminal so i replaced the fuse box thinking that was it, but no luck. could it be the stator, trigger, voltage reg.? any help would be greatly appreciated

could be anything but sounds alot like a dead short being it burnt the wire. take a meter and check everything

Thanks, I have narrowed it down to the harness from the motor to instrament panel. Going to check everything with a meter
