I bought a 57 duracraft duraflite the other day and need a little more info. This is my first project that I want to be 100% era correct. I have redone other boats in the past but I painted them how ever I thought looked good and Modified them to whatever I was doing with them. But this duracraft is too perfect to change a thing. The styling and the fins like a 57 chevy are to cool. Plus as it sits the boat is about 99% original. I am missing the key for the switch up front. One of the throttle cables needs to be fixed and the seats are rotted away other than that it is complete. The original windscreen is there with all the molding, its got the Gale Sea King motor that came on it new with matching Gale accessories all around. I think there may have been a bamini top on it at one point but its hard to tell.
What I really need help with is "exact factory paint color". All the photo's I find are in black and white. I also need more photos of the original decals on the sides and photos of the seats. I have some pics but could use more. I also would love to know if by using the serial number there would be a way to tell what options this boat had. I know is 57 Duracraft biult 18 models but only 3 of them where duraflites. Some duraflites had floors some didn't. I just need more info before I tackle this. I just want to bring it back to the day It hit the show floor.
Thanks for any help.
