hello forum... :)
who ? makes the most comfortable and easy to use tiller handel on a 9.9 outboard ?
im thinking of buying a yammie high thrust 9.9 with tiller..
or a mercury bigfoot 9.9...
i think ? those two are really the only choices in lower gearing and big props ?
im wanting to be able to stand and control the motor with an extended handel..
I've never seen either one of these in the flesh....
but i figure you guys might have some thoughts on this.
BTW ...my boat is a wooden brockway skiff/scow
sixteen footer. large and roomy...just needing a outboard to push the heavy ol" girl around.

I've got a Mercury 9.9hp Big Foot 4 stroke... but I haven't used it yet.

You're making a wood flat bottom boat?

yep...it sure has been a fun project..
m using bronze screws and PL premium glue.
no plans ..just building by "eye" sofar i thinks ? she's turning out pretty good.

i was wanting a stable ..roomy boat . something a big guy like me ..6 foot 2 ..290 pounds...
could walk around in ...im not after speed so much..just something to putt putt around in .
m building her on my flatbed trailer...it fits!!

20" freeboard ..square bow ..shes 66.5 " wide on the widest point on the bottom.

whats y'all thinks ?

Had the same question, so I googled and came up with these images; kinda neat:

https://www.google.com/search?q=wooden%20brockway%20skiff%2Fscow&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:eek:fficial&client=firefox-a&channel=rcs&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=5bRIUMKhHcrm2QWA6YHYAQ

ive got ? maybe ? 400 in her so far....
never knew a person could use so much PL premium glue...
i just happen to have a remote 9.9 .....but was thinking of trading for a tiller model.....
and also ..have a 25hp four stroke mercury short shaft big foot.
i could use the mercury...but ? why not use the 9.9 ?
its a long shaft ... four stroke..and paid for...(the best part)...
its not doing anything...just sitting in the corner of the barn.
whats ya say ?

thanks...
i do thinks it will bea pretty nce and roomy boat...if i can ever get off this truck to finish it...
so far its been alotta fun.
i want it as open as i can...im thinking of putting the air/float boxes along both sides for
side seats ..and also use the boxes as steps to get in and out from the boat ramp dock...
think thats a good ideal ?
