I appreciate the quick answer for my last question. That makes a years membership pay off in about 8 hours . All my investments should do as well !!

I have a 1969 Johnson 2 stroke outboard Model 55ESL69A

When I removed the prop nut the tip of the prop shaft parted just below the hole for the cotter key, about 1/2 inch of the prop shaft broke off.
Still trying to determine if this will be a viable motor for me so I do not want to put a lot of money into it.
I can make a sheet metal lock for the nut or shorten the 1 inch thick brass splined spacer to 1/2 inch and drill a new hole in the shaft for the cotter key, not sure of any problems that might cause. Any thoughts or recommendations? 20230830_120845.jpg
