exterior latex on boat??

just out of curiosity....will exterior latex house paint stick/hold up for any length of time on my aluminum boat?? anyone ever tried?? i only ask because i have some on hand already.... so its free and i love the color...

i took a little sample piece from the seat i cut out and painted a spot just now, so i guess maybe ill answer my own question in the morning when it dries...

idk but i have used exterior porch paint and it works pretty good.

my little test piece held pretty surprisingly well...i had to scrape it pretty hard to get to bare metal..

not sure im willing to go ahead and paint my boat with it just yet though... i am painting my plywood for my floor decks and transom with it though...ill let you know in a few weeks or months or a year or 2 how it held!!

It will work fine so long as you use a good primer underneath. It won't stick worth a hoot on bare aluminum most of the time.
