Here is my new modified ride. I am attaching photos of the before and the NOW. Huge difference but totally modified!!!

I have the original motor paint colors that Evinrude calls out, so I will be painting the motor shortly. I was going to paint it gray/red to match boat but i think id like it to be the original manufacturer coloring.

So to go back to the BIG RULE OF THUMB.............when people said to make sure that the grain of the carpet is always going int he same direction, I now know how critical that is. Although the carpet was ALWAYS running the same direction, I failed to also note which direction the lid was facing compared to front/back. So that is why you see the different colors. I was going to redo it but said screw it. I'm hoping after awhile the sun will fade it and you wont be able to tell that big of a difference. lessons learned.

other than that, I need to install the bilge pump and mount the transducer. I am really impressed with the final product!!!!

and YES, it floats!!!

What IS the correct color? I'm having trouble figuring it out for 71' 6hp

And the boat looks nice, lots of work.

Craftsman-like work!

Turned out great, I hope you are pleased because it is very well done.

But now--you're gonna need a cover. =D>

thank you!!

If you go to iboats.com, you can browse through the paint colors they have. They actually have it specified for specific years. My motor has a white top and a blue bottom. they sell spray cans for each color in my year of 1966

You did a nice job on your boat. I'm getting ready to start working on my boat. Did you use any type of water sealer on the plywood if so what kind? Also what kind/type of paint did you use? I have seen people comment about different types of paint. And how your paint job holding up. My boat needs to be painted, I have an electric paint sprayer that I'm going to use. I would appreciate any advice you could offer.
