Lowrance power cord length?

I just got my new Elite-5 HDI in UPS from Cabelas. I'm kinda worried though because it didn't seem packed very well... It still looked to be new so I didn't let that bother me.

It wasn't until I was going to install it that I noticed the power cord was only 3' long! What the heck am I suppose to do 3' of cord?!

I'm hoping someone here can tell me if this is normal.

Fairly normal as the mfg assumes you will mount on the console close to the fuse panel. Just get some similar size wire to use to lengthen the power cord to length needed. And use a fuse as well.
