removing middle seat

I'm a new member with a question about removing the middle seat I would think that removing the seat would change the integrity of the boat isn't it a support to stop water pressure from caving the sides in but I see lots of people doing that to make the boat open. I have sea nymph 14R was thinking hard about it. just seems like a nice open concept.

Conventional thinking is removal of the middle bench without adding back some support could cause problems and perhaps significant problems. Here is a link to a previous thread about this same question. I would put a lot of emphasis on post #2 in the attached thread:
