    70s Mercury 200 20hp service manuals

I picked up a pair of 1970s merc 200s. One is a 74 I think the other is a year or two earlier. They seem to be in good shape but I want to find a service manual for them. I have found a parts manual but no service manual. Does anybody know of a source or have one to sell? I have them sitting on...

    Lets talk Framing

Lets see if this works. Remember this is a very small budget build. I reused the framing from the original owner. The bottom pic rotated. You can see the cut down joist hangers. They are fastened to the seats using 3/16" sheet metal screws. The front framing is going to be modified by removing...

    Lets talk Framing

I bought an older boat to make into a low budget fishing platform. It had a two level deck over the front seats up to the bow. The front part was level with the gunwhales and unbalanced the boat when standing on it. I ripped the decking off and redid the framing using the old wood to make one...

    JACK PLATE

If returning it is absolutely not an option you may be able to "fix" your outboard depending on the motor. It may require a new drive shaft but some of the the "long leg" motors simply have an extension on the housing and a longer drive shaft. In other words replacing the vertical driveshaft for...

Mcculloch 14 wont stay running more than a few minutes

Thank you! I found a fuel pump for a twin koeler 15 to 25hp with the right number of lines. Ill order it and adjust as you suggest. Ill keep the ratio at 30:1 as it says.

It may sound stupid but that is what I was thinking to see if that fixes my issue. I looked for a diaphragm for this motor and couldnt find one

Mcculloch 14 wont stay running more than a few minutes

Parts seem to be not as common as most. Can I use a newer fuel pump? Its a diaphragm fuel pump and it has three lines which I would assume are, in, out, and vacuum. Its only held on by two machine screws. It doesnt seem that it would matter as long as it is supplying enough fuel to the carb or...

Mcculloch 14 wont stay running more than a few minutes

This is my first small engine motor Im used to larger outboards. I bought a new tank put 2 gallons of fuel and 7 oz of oil which should be 40:1. I may be running to rich but I didnt ant to chance it. The cowl shows 16oz for 4-6 gallons of fuel which is 30 or 40:1. 7 is between 30-40 to 1. The...
