    Pondering trolling motor battery selection

I have a 1970 Gregor 12ft vhull with the 62lb Newport vessel. Running a 100ah lifepo. No problems so far. Hasn't left me stranded yet. I also have a noco on board charger so I just have to plug the boat into an extension cord to charge. With 2 people it gets me up to about 4mph or so.

Yes the serial number had a 25 in it, assumed it was a 25hp.

No progress... found another boat/trailer for $250. I couldn't pass it up. 1968 starcraft. Does anyone know how many HP this engine is? I'm guessing 15-20? I literally just picked it up, so I haven't done my due diligence yet on this.

I hear ya, this boat is rated at 750lbs, so I can still have 2 adults on board comfortably.

Progress... working on the battery area, still waiting on a few parts, but mounted a small battery gauge next to the switches and mounted a distribution block on the underside of the panel. I also added a 62lb thrust trolling motor. I need another piece of aluminum to support it like the...

    New Here - 1970 Gregor V Hull

Progress... Started to wire the lights, bilge pump, switch panel and battery tray area. Also added a plastic grommet for the fuel line, and will probably add another one for the bilge pump tube.

Progress... made some covers for gas tank and electronics. Added a bimini top. Things are shaping up. I want to add color to the outside of the boat, or maybe a vinyl graphic, I'm not sure yet.

    New Here - 1970 Gregor V Hull

Thanks so much. It's my first boat. I've got the itching to make a fishing rig now after finding tiny boat Nation, lol. This boat is just for cruising around the lake, so I wanted to keep it classy on a budget. So far I have invested about $1,300.00 total in boat and trailer. I have all the...

Update, primered, painting (1/2 done). Need to add gray stripe and top rail pinstripe. Mahogany is sanded and ready for linseed oil. Then Bimini top install, and other accessories. I still need to fabricate a cover for the gas tank and battery. I have the carpet and wood ready to go.
