The cavitation plat should be about an inch bellow the bottom of the boat. Some like to raise it a little higher.
The performance gain will be less drag from the motor not being so far in the water and less back pressure on the exhaust.
I actually learned about it on this forum. Can't...
Don't know if it has been said or you thought about it yet, but if you get a jack plate for your outboard and raise it up will help with clearance and performance. It is sitting a little low.
I am having to do the same on mine.
Very nice build!
Where did you get the LED lighting? It is very bright.
I was going to carpet mine, but after seeing yours I like a surface I can hose down better, Gets pretty nasty when bowfishing.
What size is the boat?
I have a sea king, and yes it sits very low in the water. If I turn real sharp the sides are only a couple inches above water and the transom is the same way.
But hey, she hasn't took on water yet! (Knocking on wood)
I am guessing the floor of a sea king does not sit level when in the water?
How do you level the floor so it sits level in the water?
What about the deck? I was going to put the deck flush under the lip of the top of the boat, but would like to make it level too.
I can always take a level and...
