I gotta say I love this build! I have been away from the site going thru the big D and had to sell off my boats but I am looking for another and LOVE your build!! Good stuff bub!
Posting photos is quite easy. I am anxious to see your new boat. It is either a good thing or a bad that all depends on the condition of the boat and how much you will have to put into it vs what you spent on it  How much did your wife pay the seller for the boat? What size is the boat? And...
Thanks Gators! Yea I think I am about done with this one. Reason is I got another for $300 that was a 16' with trailer. That will be a nice build :) and with the "roundabout" same schematic as the "blueprint" as this one. Check it out. Talk to you soon.
My 16' build...
Here you go bigwave  I hope the question comes up in a thread that I am looking through so I can give the same advice you gave me about the wire cup brush. This is what it looks like after the wire cup brush got a hold of it. Looks great and talk about easy!!! It only took me about 15...
Okay sounds good. I like the night shot and 18mph with what? I was told the 25hp that I will be putting on the 16' will not be enough. I figure 18 to 20mph is plenty for a smaller boat like these. All in all I like it and thanks for letting me know about the measurements.
Hey bigwave I wanted to take the time and look at your build since you have given me so much good advice. I like it! What is the raise height from low deck to high? What is the width of the low deck as well? I was thinking of doing something similar and possibly putting a console in mine but at...
I hear you bigwave... so far I have gotten some really good advice from some really good guys and gals! I actually did help someone out the other day from advice that I got from someone else so a little dose of pay it forward :D Its to **** cold out today for me to try the wire cup brush method...
HAHA again with your reputation of good advice bigwave. You know its funny I had bought one yesterday, both wheel and cup style, in order to strip the trailer. Thanks bigwave, if Florida was not so far away id buy you a beer :D but it is. The offer always stands if you are ever in my neck of the...
Okay so here is the pic I promised. Ill post one before with the blocks and one after so you can kind of see the before and after so far. Sorry I know it is a little soon for "before and after" pics but I am very proud of my work. I used to be VERY hand guy... ie being a carpenter and building...
Hey guys, so yesterday was very productive to say the least. The wife was at work and I got pretty much everything I wanted to get done, done. I don't know if I was using to much pressure or if I was just buying cheap grinding wheels but they continued to break at the center were the arbor...
So I had every intention of working on the boat today but my wife had a different plan for me. So tomorrow is another day and is supposed to be in the 80s like today was. I will post some pictures tomorrow night of the progress.
Thanks Bigwave, you know I can count on your advice. I have read your post on others threads and its always good. I will have to look into the clegecell and see what my options are. Price is the biggest set back right now because the money is not a problem its convincing my wife to let me buy...
Okay so here are some pictures of what I did today. It was a lot for such a little amount of time today but I ran out of sunlight and tools. I was using a grinding wheel to cut into the fiberglass to open the transom cap. I also went to get a second opinion of how to go about opening the transom...
I love the mod Drift! Similar to what I am looking to do but I have to fix the crack in my transom first. I just picked up a 16' "homemade" fiberglass and the weather has been chilly to nice to freezing the next so working on it, since I do not have cover, is based off of the weather... sucks I...
