14ft Landau Restore (start thru finish) w/ photos

Thank you. I may install lights this summer along with the butt seat at front deck, though both are not a high priority at the moment. I do have 12g wires running thru the beam and they are pre-rigged for what I decide to do. Whatever night fishing I usually do (walleyes) is done from my other boat.

14ft Landau Restore (start thru finish) w/ photos

Hi everyone, back in October I bought myself a project; an old Landau jon boat that I converted into a "Lund". I made an introductory post for it in the fall and it's somewhere on this site. In March and April nearly every weekend was spent fixing it up with hopes it would be ready by first week...

Bowmount Trolling Motor Mounting on Jon Boat

That's a hell of an idea right here. Was any welding involved? Or did you just cut, bolt, and mend together? Looks awesome.

Bowmount Trolling Motor Mounting on Jon Boat

Thanks for the ideas so far.... Keep 'em coming! Jonah, that looks like a piece of artwork. How long did it take to weld and create? My original thought was building a shaped platform from 2 x 4's and then fastening and securing it to deck. Then I had second thoughts over it because I know my...

Bowmount Trolling Motor Mounting on Jon Boat

Hi all, I recently purchased a bow mount Minnkota trolling motor for my 14 foot jon boat. The boat isn't a modified V, so unfortunately I will have to go through the extra work to create my own mounting platform, and to install it onto deck once the front casting deck is built. I'm wondering...

    Rustoleum & Aluminum Boats?

That looks great! I think I am all set. I'll try sanding first. If that proves being too much I'll prime. Thanks for the responses. Most helpful site on the net for boat building 8)

    Rustoleum & Aluminum Boats?

Thanks for the few responses. I appreciate the ideas and I'm in favor of firing up the sander to prep and prime it.

    Rustoleum & Aluminum Boats?

Hi Tinboats.net, it's been a while. I haven't posted here since 2008 when I was involved in my 1979 fiberglass Lund rebuild..... it's somewhere on this site. A few months ago I acquired a 14ft jon boat. Having never painted a boat before, I have a few questions concerning the paint job...

How's this for a small water & river boat?? (photos)

Hi all. A few weeks ago I completed my second rig. This is kind of like a new "rig", but not really. But I would like to think it is new. I've had this 12ft aluminum boat since 2006. It is a 12-foot Sears boat that I bought on Ebay. For three years, this boat didn't have a proper trailer so...

    Good fiberglass color restorers?

After a long ice season and closed gamefish season in WI, I will be reunited with my boat in 2 weeks. I might have posed this question sometime last year, but does anyone have any recommendations for restoring the color of fiberglass? I need to spruce up the redness. Look closely and my...

HELP! Need ideas for transom mount trolling motor platform!

Cheeseball: - That idea by far might be the easiest thing to do. As far as durability is concerned, I have no idea but it seems like it will work. I did try wedging in a block of triangular shaped wood under where the troller mounts but doing it that way the motor nor mount would hold together...

HELP! Need ideas for transom mount trolling motor platform!

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've made a visit. I finally have another little modification project to work with!! :) Here's my situation. I would only do this for the Walleye fishing, and I would only have my transom mounted Minn-Kota on the boat when Walleye fishing. My boat has a goofy...
