Thanks guys. Yes I would still like to change it to a tiller. I ran wires underneath to the front and put a toggle switch. If I can get a tiller, i'll take it off to go electric only, and use the switch to turn another trolling motor on from the front when moving long distances. I'll just keep...
What size bit did you use ? I had this happen once before and now I only use one big enough to drill the center out. They will then pop right out. I had to go to a bigger rivet as well.
The primer that you mostly see in the pics is a light grey. It almost looks like a blueish tint in the light. The final coat (that I only have on the bottom now) is a dark grey. I like it a lot better. I will take a picture when I get half the side painted, so you can see the difference.

A few more pics from the weekend. Didn't get as far as I would have liked, but I resfuse to rush this one (even with hunting season approaching). I did get the trailer painted, new bunks made and the final coat on the bottom.
Thanks. I should be finished by next weekend. I really want to sell the 35 Mercury and controlls, so I can put a 15hp or larger tiller steer. When I want to go to the electric only lakes, I can remove the tiller easily.

Thanks. Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but a couple more questions please. I ended up taking all the old paint off the boat, so maybe with it being bare metal the vinegar or acetone will be fine. I am planning on starting this afternoon on the paint. I would like to do this in my basement. How...
