$800 is about what I figured. I might as well just keep it though. I've spent a ton of time and money on it and there's no reason it HAS to go except to free up some room.
I'm considering selling my jon boat. Between my old Jeep, kayaks, and this old boat it's costing me a lot of money. Any ball park ideas on what I could sell this set up for?
Details: 1960 14.5' Sears Vhull, 1976 9.9 HP Evinrude - runs alright, trailer needs 1 bearing buddy replaced.
I took this...
Bugpac, there are pick ups on both sides of the lower unit. I don't think it matter's which side the hose is on.
Bikeordie092, I wasn't sure if the impeller was installed in the correct direction or not but I read that it will flip into the right direction when the motor starts up.
The copper tube looks to be seated good. Could the tube be plugged somewhere in the middle or only at the telltale outlet? I stuck a piece of wire up the telltale hole and cleaned it out as best as I could. Still no water is coming out.
Is there any possibility that the new impeller isn't...
I have a 1976 Evinrude outboard that I've been fixing up lately. I replaced the water pump impeller a few weeks ago but was not able to start the motor due to a leaky fuel bulb. I put on a new fuel bulb today and was able to start it up. I have water flowing to the motor using muffs but no water...
I have a 14.5 ft Semi-V hull boat with an old rusty trailer. How much would a new galvanized trailer cost? If they're too expensive I might as well stop dumping money into this boat and buy a new one that comes with a trailer.
I don't know diddly about trailer bearings. I'm hoping someone on here can help me out with some information.
I have a 14.5 ft Semi V Hull boat that is on a homemade trailer. I purchased the trailer with the boat. I did not make it.
Here are a few pictures I took today of the bearings. Are...
Thanks for the info. Thats what I figured it is. I'm going to go out there and work on it soon when the rain lets up down here. I'll let you know how it goes.
I have some general questions about the lower unit and water pump also. I'll create separate thread for that.
I'm a newbie at working on motors. I dropped the lower unit on my 1976 Evinrude 9.9hp motor last night to replace the water pump impeller. When I put the lower unit back on I had a really hard time getting the gear cable to go back into the strap/connector piece that is held together by a screw...
Thats good. I just changed the lower unit oil last weekend and wouldn't want it going to waste.
Is there a gasket that needs to be replaced when putting the lower unit back on?
This may sound stupid but I'm a newbie. When I drop the lower unit is lower unit oil going to leak out anywhere or is it all contained in a separate part of the lower unit?
