    Greetings! And... SmokerCraft Re-build

Impressive! We're still iced in and temps are still going to 0 at night.

Rich we always seem to go north and haven't thought much about going south but maybe I should bring it up to the wife. PM me and maybe we can come up with some ideas!

1984 16' Bass Attacker Complete Rebuild

Bigwrench that really opens up the front of the boat nicely. I like it. I have never worked with aluminum when it comes to bending it but have done a lot with sheet stainless. If you could find someone with a box brake bender it would be easy to fab that up with stainless in two pieces and then...

The Hull you say.....1652 G3 new hull

Way to go Rich. Looking forward to your progress. I would love to have a new Lund but the funds just aren't there so I'm stuck with my old ones.

    Kayak Recommendation

I used to kayak back in my younger days. Always a sit-in and not a sit-on. If you want to stand in a kayak then you'd better find the widest one you can and hope you have strong ankles and athletic balance. None out there that I know of that were made to stand in. I know there used to be a...

    How long does carpet last?

DaleH, Agree that vinyl is a great way to go and if done properly looks good too. Normally a bit more expensive than carpet but well worth the expense in durability. Unfortunately the Admiral likes carpet under her bare feet and as we are nowhere near salt she gets here way. Keeping the Admiral...

That sounds about right for coverage. From my experience I don't think you'll have to worry about that transom again for another 25 years.

1984 16' Bass Attacker Complete Rebuild

Coming along nicely there Bigwrench. So about how much sealer did it take you to do that? The plywood panel that I used for the decking in my Sea Nymph had been sitting in my garage for about 5 years and I'll tell you that it was dry. It was about 3/4 of a sheet and it took about a 1.5 qt. to...

Looking very good. Nice fit with the plywood. As to the amount of resin you'll use will be dependent on the moisture content of the wood as I mentioned before and as I haven't used that method before so I can't even give a guesstament. I would think or hope that 2 gal would be more than enough...

    Trailer bolt identification

Those pins are normally used with spool rollers and are still available. Don't know if you'll be able to find them in a short length for use in your bunks.

    Greetings! And... SmokerCraft Re-build

I use ACX for a couple of reasons. 1; most BCX or CDX 1/2" ply that I've seen is only 4 ply and has open voids in both sides of the veneer where as the ACX always has one side that is clear and is 5 ply making it a bit stiffer. 2; When laying vinyl it is best to have a clear flat side to glue...

    Greetings! And... SmokerCraft Re-build

Welcome back! Looks like this will be a nice build and you've gotten quite a jump on it. I would look for some ACX sanded on side for the ply. Which is what I've been using. As for sealing the plywood of course it is well known that epoxy resin is the best choice over-all though there is...

    Help ID my boat

Is there a Hull ID number on the outside upper right hand side of the transoms?

New Motor for '63 Lone Star?

Unless I was operating on waters with 2 cycle restrictions I would stay with a 2 cycle engine. A lot less maintenance and moving parts and good ones are still plentiful. I just put a 1994 Johnson 30hp on a 14.4 Sea Nymph that runs terrific and only paid $350.00 for it with the remote controls.
